What are Cookies? english

What are cookies?

Cookies are text files created by the website you are visiting and stored on your computer. When a user returns to the visited website, the browser retrieves the stored cookies and sends them to the server.

Cookies allow access to different website functions to ensure visitors the best possible user experience. In addition, they provide website operators with information on how certain visitors use certain content.

In compliance with the data protection authority’s provision 229 of 8 May 2014, we inform visitors about cookies, their functions, and any deactivation of the latter.

In the following section, we list the macro categories of cookies, which differ in their properties and functions:

  1. We again divide the technical cookies into three groups:
    a) Necessary cookies
This type of cookies allows you to navigate the website and use the most important functions. These cookies are usually installed after a request on the website. For example, any registration can be seen as a request. These cookies are essential for the use of this website.
    b) Functional cookies
This type of cookies are used to recognize you when you return to our website. They allow us to provide you with a better experience on our website. For example, we can welcome you with your name, remember your language and/or region. These cookies only collect anonymous information and do not store your actions on this website on other websites.
    c) Performance and performance cookies
Using analytics and performance cookies, we may collect information about the behavior of users on the website. Thus, we have the possibility to measure the loading time, the behavior of different browser types and to detect any errors. This helps us to optimize the functioning of the website. We also use third-party analytical cookies to obtain information about the number of users and number of websites visited (e.g., Google AdWords). Here we would like to point out the guidelines of the respective provider. The use of necessary cookies, functional cookies, performance, and performance cookies does not require your consent, as they are considered „technical cookies“. In any case, you can set your browser at any time to disable these cookies with the browser settings below. If the technical cookies are disabled, certain functions of the website cannot be guaranteed.
  2. Navigation and usage cookies are used to ensure normal navigation and use of the website.
  3. Advertising cookies and profiling
This type of cookies (advertising and retargeting cookies) save your visit to this website, also store the other websites you visit and the links you click on. We use this information to customize ads to your interests. This type of information is used, among other things, to define the frequency of ads and to measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign. For this purpose, this information may be passed on to third parties (e.g., advertisers).

The user is informed that the website also sends third-party cookies. Third-party cookies may be installed either directly by business partners with whom we have agreements or by third parties, where we merely serve as intermediaries and therefore only conduct indirect cooperation.

This website uses technical cookies. These types of cookies allow the user to browse a website or to use and use the various functions on it. For example, they provide the ability to customize the language of the site to your location.

A Google Analytics cookie is also used on this website. This cookie is used for statistical evaluations (collection of visitor numbers, recognition of browser type, etc.). This cookie also contains only encrypted data and no personal information. Should you nevertheless object to the storage of this cookie, you can download the corresponding browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

The cookies used on the website contain only encrypted data and no personal information.
